NEW ORLEANS -- The "Battle for Uptown" on Saturday, Dec. 9 at Fogelman Arena, featuring Tulane versus neighboring Loyola, highlights a busy December basketball schedule for the Green Wave. The month's activities include a special alumni gathering prior to the TU-Loyola contest, the team's first appearance of the season at the New Orleans Arena, and a full menu of holiday ticket specials that make perfect stocking stuffers during this Christmas shopping season.
On Saturday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m., Tulane faces off with next-door neighbor Loyola for just the third time in school history and for the first time since 1972. Prior to the game, the Tulane Athletics Department and Alumni Affairs Office invite all Tulane Alumni to a block party in front of Fogelman Arena from 5-7 p.m., complete with live music and concessions specials. All Tulane alumni are invited to come out and support Shawn Finney's men's basketball team as it faces off in the Uptown clash.
The end of the month brings another local battle as Tulane plays its first home game of the season in the New Orleans Arena on New Year's Weekend when it plays host to the Southern University Jaguars on Saturday, Dec. 30 at 7 p.m. The game will be sponsored by WQUE 93.3 FM and WYLD 98.5 FM. All Tulane men's games feature a chance for one lucky fan to leave the Arena with $10,000 if they can sink four shots in the $10,000 Halftime Shootout, sponsored by Bell South, Bell South Mobility and Bell South Yellow Pages.
In the spirit of the season, basketball season, that is, Tulane is offering three men's basketball ticket packages. The Big Fan Game Plan is a six-game package that includes exciting action versus Southern (Dec. 30), Louisville (Jan. 10) and DePaul (Feb. 17) at the New Orleans Arena and contests versus UAB (Jan. 20), South Florida (Feb. 3) and Houston (Feb. 21) at Fogelman Arena. Cost for the Big Fan Game Plan for adults is just $108 for seating on the side court and $84 in the end zone, while tickets are available for youths in the end courts for $48.
For families who want to catch great Tulane basketball action on the weekends, the Green Wave is offering the Weekend Family Plan, which includes two adult and two youth tickets to Tulane's five weekend games this year at the bargain price of just $175. That works out to less than $9 per ticket for December Saturday contests with Loyola and Southern, a January matchup with UAB and February games with South Florida and DePaul.
Finally, the Two-Point Plan offer a ticket to the Louisville game in the New Orleans Arena Jan. 10 and the Houston game in Fogelman on Feb. 21 for $28.

On December 27 and 28, the Tulane women's basketball team will host the Tulane DoubleTree Classic in Fogelman Arena. The action tips off Dec. 27 at 6 p.m. when the Wave takes on William & Mary, followed by Long Beach State and Hartford in the nightcap at approximately 8:15 p.m. The next day, Tulane will play at 5 p.m. with the other contest tipping off at 3 p.m. Tickets for the Tulane DoubleTree Classic start as low as $3 for kids.
