NEW ORLEANS - For the first time since the 2006-07 season, the Tulane men's basketball team will hosts cross-campus foe Loyola in a regular season game when the two schools on St. Charles Ave meet on Tuesday at 7 p.m. CT inside Devlin Fieldhouse.

The last time the two schools met was Nov. 21, 2006 when the Green Wave defeated the Wolfpack, 66-53, although they have met several times since in exhibition games.

Tulane (4-2) opened the current four-game homestand on Saturday with a 68-65 victory over Southern. Josh Davis led the way with 20 points and a career-high 16 rebounds for his fourth straight double, while Jordan Callahan and Ricky Tarrant each had 16 points in the victory.

Loyola (5-3), a member of the NAIA's Southern States Athletic Conference, has won three of the last four outings, including a 78-77, win over Webber International on Saturday.

"We know Loyola is going to get up for this game," Tulane head coach Ed Conroy said. "They're our neighbors and we share a campus so they are going to be ready. They are a good basketball team and coach (Giorlando) does a great job with them. We know that we will get their best effort."

The Wolfpack enters the game averaging 72.6 points per game. They are shooting 47.1 percent from the floor and 36.3 percent from 3-point range.

Tulane comes into the game with a 67.7 points-per-game average. The Green Wave has hit 40.9 percent from the floor and 37.2 percent from 3-point land.

"We have to execute better down the stretch and we need to get earlier contributions from our bench so we can be fresher at the end," Conroy added. "We have to move better on the offensive end and finish games."

Tulane led by as much as 17 in the second half on Saturday's win over Southern before hanging on for the three-point victory.

This will be the 10th meeting between the two schools during the regular season. Tulane leads the series, 8-1, including seven straight wins. The teams first met on Jan. 25, 1972 resulting in a 73-69 Green Wave win.

Tuesday's game also kicks off the annual Staff Advisory Council (SAC) Toy Drive for the Holidays, benefiting children in the foster care system in Orleans, Jefferson, St. Tammany, Plaquemines, and St. Bernard Parishes. The drive will run until December 7.

This year, in addition to collecting unwrapped gifts, we are also selling tickets for a prize drawing, where you could win one of three prizes valued up to $2,000! Prizes include an original artwork by local artist Stephan Wanger, a Langiappe gift basket, or a pair of Saints tickets. More information about the prizes is available on our website, http://tulane.edu/sac/communityservice.cfm.
