NEW ORLEANS - In a quick turnaround, the Tulane men's basketball team hosts Chicago State in the final game of a three-game homestand on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT in Devlin Fieldhouse as part of the four-game Joe Cipriano Nebraska Classic.
The Green Wave (2-1) defeated Omaha, 76-52, on Friday afternoon, while Chicago State (1-2) fell at Kent State, 92-63, also on Friday as part of the Classic.
"The turnaround is going to be a challenge for our guys," Tulane head coach Ed Conroy said. "We've got some guys that played a lot of minutes and we have to put a scouting report together in one day. Our guys are ready to play games as opposed to practicing against each other so they will be ready to go."
David leads the Green Wave with 19.3 points and 8.0 rebounds per game, while sophomore guard Ricky Tarrant is scoring 16.3 points per outing. Callahan is adding 12.0 points a contest.
Tulane is averaging 67.3 points over the first three games of the season. The Green Wave also is shooting 40.5 percent from the floor.
The Cougars are led by senior forward Jeremy Robinson with 16.0 points and 9.3 rebounds per game.
CSU's lone win of the young season came against Concordia, 81-63, back on Tuesday in Chicago.
This will be the first meeting between the two schools.
Tulane travels to Lincoln, Neb., to face the Cornhuskers in the final game of the Joe Cipriano Nebraska Classic on Wednesday at 7 p.m. CT.
