NEW ORLEANS - Former Tulane men's basketball star Jordan Callahan has continued his career by signing to play in Poland with the Koszykarski Club.

"It's a great opportunity to be playing in the top league in Poland," Callahan said. "It's going to be great competition and I can't wait to take full advantage of it."

Callahan will spend the 2013-14 season as a guard for the Kotwica Kolobrezeg . The team plays in one of Europe's top leagues.

"As a program we are very proud and excited for Jordan," Tulane head coach Ed Conroy said. "He worked extremely hard to give himself the opportunity to continue his basketball career in a very strong league in Poland."

Callahan finished his four-year career with the Green Wave this past season and left the program as the all-time leader in 3-pointers made. The Marietta, Ga., native also scored 1,269 points and dished out 304 assists in 120 games. As a senior this past season, Callahan hit a career-high 81 3-pointers, the most in a single-season at Tulane and scored 372 points.

"Jordan gave himself great post-graduation options with his work on the court and in the classroom," Conroy added. "Not only did he sign a contract to play professional basketball, but he graduated in May with a Tulane degree from the Freeman School of Business. Jordan deserves credit for taking advantage of the opportunity he got as a student-athlete at Tulane."

Callahan and the Kotwica Kolobrezeg open play on Oct. 14, but has already started preseason workouts.
