Memphis Head Coach John Calipari

On playing North Texas
"They present us a lot of challenges. They are quick, athletic and strong. I told our guys that they remind me a lot of (Conference USA opponent) Houston, but that they go stronger to the basket and finish better. They shoot the three well, and I told our guys that (Calvin) Watson will shoot the NBA three so they better defend him when he crosses half court. Johnny has done a tremendous job with his team, and we expect a great game tomorrow."

On comparing this year's team with last year's squad
"All I know is that when I shake the hands of the opposing coaches we have played the last two months, all they have said is, 'This team plays together better than last year's team.' I don't really know what they mean by that. All I know is last year's squad was definitely more talented and that was seen when we had two players (Rodney Carney, Shawne Williams) taken in the NBA Draft first round and had another (Darius Washington Jr.) that is playing professionally overseas. But, I can see that this year's team plays together better as a team. We pass the ball well, and we play well together on the defensive end."

On Memphis' 22-game win streak; the longest in the nation
"What streak? (laughter) We don't talk about it. The last two months all we have been doing is winning as many games as we could so that we could secure a top seed in the tournament. Now that we have done that, we are looking at just winning six games. That's all it is about right now. All every team in this tournament wants to do is put together six wins in a row this time of year and take home the trophy."
