NEW ORLEANS, La. - Tulane University junior Brandon Brown (Houma, La.) was named to the All-Conference USA Third Team in voting by the league's coaches and media the Conference announced Monday.

Brown is the leading scorer and rebounder for the Green Wave with 15.3 points and 7.5 rebounds. He is also among the best in Conference USA with his .566 field-goal percentage.

"Brandon Brown is a player who has worked very hard to make himself a premier player," Tulane coach Shawn Finney said. "It is great to see him honored by the coaches and media for his efforts and for him to be recognized as one of the top players in Conference USA."

Brown and the Green Wave will play in the first round of the Conference USA Tournament in Cincinnati on Wednesday evening at 8:30 p.m. (Central). The Wave will play Saint Louis in a rematch of their regular season finale from Saturday. In that game, the Billikens topped the Green Wave, 67-59.

A talented collection of backcourt performers headlines the All-Conference USA First Team. Five of the six first team selections are guards, including Cincinnati senior Steve Logan, Charlotte senior Jobey Thomas, Louisville junior Reece Gaines, Marquette sophomore Dwyane Wade and Memphis freshman Dajuan Wagner. Memphis center Kelly Wise rounds out the first team as the only frontcourt player on the squad.

The Conference USA second team includes TCU junior guard Junior Blount, Marquette senior guard Cordell Henry, South Florida senior forward Altron Jackson, Saint Louis guard Marque Perry and senior forward/center Cam Stephens of Charlotte.

Brown was joined on C-USA's third team by UAB senior forward Will Campbell, Southern Miss senior forward Elvin Mims, Cincinnati junior guard Leonard Stokes, Houston junior forward Louis Truscott and South Florida senior forward B.B. Waldon, the first player in Conference USA history to be named to one of the all-conference teams four straight years.
