NEW ORLEANS - The stretch run of the regular season begins Wednesday night for the Tulane men's basketball team as the Green Wave host UAB in a pivotal Conference USA game at 7 p.m. CT in Devlin Fieldhouse.

Tulane (18-9, 6-6 C-USA) sits in sixth-place in the conference standings with four games remaining. The Green Wave are 1.5 games out of third-place, but are also just two games ahead of 10th-place in the tight league standings.

UAB Ends Green Wave's Season, 72-64
Cameron Moore and Ovie Soko each tallied double-doubles to lead Alabama-Birmingham past Tulane 72-64 on Wednesday night in the opening round of the Conference USA tournament.

UAB (13-14, 5-7 C-USA) sits in eighth-place, a game behind Tulane.

Tulane, winners of four of the last five, is coming off a 25-point win at Rice last Saturday night behind a 30-point performance from Ricky Tarrant and a 23-point, 16-rebound game from Josh Davis.

The Blazers, who have also won four of the last five and five of seven since opening the conference 0-5, won at Marshall, 52-48, on Saturday.

"UAB comes in here playing their best basketball of the year," Tulane head coach Ed Conroy said. "They are one of the most talented teams in the conference and we know that we need to continue to play the way we've been playing on both ends of the floor to be successful."

Davis leads Tulane into the game. The junior forward has collected a conference-best 15 doubles doubles this season and averages 17.7 points and 10.1 rebounds per game. Tarrant leads the conference games only in scoring with 18.0 points per outing and posts 16.1 points per game overall.

UAB is led by junior forwards Jordan Swing and Rod Rucker. Swing posts 13.9 points and 5.6 rebounds, while Rucker adds 13.7 points and 8.1 rebounds.

This will be the 36th meeting between the two schools. UAB owns a 23-12 series lead and has won nine straight. The Blazers also own a slim 9-7 series lead in games played in New Orleans.

Tulane travels to Tulsa on Saturday for a 3 p.m. CT tip before visiting East Carolina on Wednesday for a 6 p.m. CT game.
