Men's Basketball Hosts Marshall in Rare Sunday Matinee

NEW ORLEANS - Looking to build on the momentum of Friday's thrilling one-point victory, the Tulane men's basketball team hosts Conference USA for Marshall on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT at Fogelman Arena in Devlin Fieldhouse.

The Green Wave (12-11, 4-4 C-USA) evened its conference record with a, 64-63, win over visiting Charlotte on Friday, while Marshall (8-15, 2-7 C-USA) lost for the second straight game, 60-57, at Southern Miss.

"This is a very talented Marshall team and will be a challenge for our guys," Tulane head coach Ed Conroy said. "We have to remained focus on the task at hand after Friday's win. We have to come out and play well on Sunday."

Louis Dabney leads the Green Wave with a 17.0 points per game average, while Jonathan Stark is posting 14.9 and Jay Hook, who hit the game winning free throw on Friday, is adding 14.4 points per outing.

Marshall is led by freshman guard Kareem Candy's 16.0 points per game average.

This will be the 16th meeting between the two conference foes. Marshall owns an 8-7 series lead, but Tulane has won the last two meetings, including a 66-64 win in the opening round of the C-USA Tournament in Tulsa and a 91-75 victory in New Orleans.

Tulane hits the road this week to face Middle Tennessee State on Thursday at 7 p.m. CT and UAB on Saturday at 7 p.m. CT.
