Houston Stifles Green Wave, 82-53
Tulane will have to wait four more years to try to snag a victory on Leap Day as the Green Wave fell to Houston, 82-53, on Wednesday night in Hofheinz Pavilion in the final road game of the regular season.

The Cougars (14-7, 3-5 C-USA) did not play on Wednesday, but defeated SMU, 84-80, in overtime last Saturday.

"We hope we can continue with the way we played in the first half against Marshall on Saturday in Houston," Tulane head coach Ed Conroy said. "Houston is a very talented and well coached team so we know the importance of coming out and playing well on the road."

Tulane is led by junior forward Josh Davis with 17.3 points and a conference-best 10.0 rebounds per game. Sophomore guard Ricky Tarrant adds 15.0 points per game, while senior guard Jordan Callahan is chipping in 10.8 points a game and is seven 3-pointers away from the school record.

Houston is led by sophomore guard Joseph Young's 16.8 points per game, while sophomore forward TaShawn Thomas adds 15.7 points and 9.7 rebounds per game.

This will be the 29th meeting between the two schools. The series is knotted up at 14-14, but Houston owns a 10-3 series lead at home. The Cougars has won four straight at home against Tulane, including the 82-53 victory on Feb. 29, 2012.

Tulane will travel up I-59 to Hattiesburg to face Southern Miss on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. CT tip.
