NEW ORLEANS - Tulane's men's basketball team returns to Devlin Fieldhouse on Wednesday to host Marshall in a Conference USA contest at 7 p.m. CT.

The Green Wave (14-8, 2-5 C-USA) has lost two straight games, including a 62-50 decision at UTEP on Saturday night.

"Our guys are working hard and putting the effort in during the games and practice, we've just got to come out and execute on the floor against our opponents," Tulane head coach Ed Conroy said. "We know Marshall is a better team than their record shows. They are one of the most talented teams in the league and we know we've got to be ready to compete and execute for 40 minutes."

Rebounding Dooms Green Wave in Loss at Marshall
Tulane's men's basketball team knew coming into Wednesday night's game that Marshall was one of the best rebounding teams in the nation, but the Green Wave couldn't find much to stop the Thundering Herd on the boards in a 63-44 loss at the Cam Henderson Center.

Marshall (10-12, 3-4 C-USA) snapped a three-game losing skid with a 75-71 victory at home over UCF on Saturday afternoon.

The Thundering Herd has four players averaging in double figures led by Elijah Pittman's 14.8 and DeAndre Kane's 14.4. Kane also leads Conference USA with 7.2 assists per game.

As a team, Marshall averages 68.4 points per game and shoots 41.9 percent from the floor, but allows opponents to score 70.9 points a game.

Josh Davis leads Tulane with 17.1 points and 9.9 rebounds per game, while Ricky Tarrant adds 14.8 points per outing.

The Green Wave average 64.7 points per game and have the second best scoring defense in the conference at 59.3 point per contest.

This will be the 14th meeting between the two schools. Marshall owns an 8-5 series lead, including four straight wins. The Herd also own a 3-2 series lead in games played in New Orleans. Marshall defeated Tulane, 63-44, in the last meeting, Feb. 1, 2012 in Huntington.

Tulane will travel to Houston on Saturday to face the Cougars at 1 p.m. CT in Hofheinz Pavilion.
