BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Tulane University will meet UAB in Conference USA men's basketball action on Saturday evening in Birmingham, Ala., at 7:30 p.m. The Green Wave will be looking for its fourth consecutive road victory.

The game will be available on the radio on WTIX 94.3 FM. Jim Freeman provides the play-by-play. All Tulane radio broadcasts are available on the internet as well, by visiting www.TulaneGreenWave.com.

"It will be good to be back on the road," Tulane head coach Shawn Finney said. "The road has been good to us. It goes back to mental preparation. UAB is an athletic team trying to find themselves. They are as athletic as any team in the league."

Tulane has won all three of its Conference USA road contest, while dropping all three of its home contests in league play. However, the three home losses came against the top three teams in the National Division of the league (Memphis, Houston and South Florida).

Junior Brandon Brown (Houma, La.) has been the key this season for the Green Wave, which has an overall record of 11-6. The 6-8 Brown leads the team in scoring (16.2 ppg) and rebounding (7.3 rpg). He also leads Conference USA with his .625 shooting percentage from the field. He has posted back-to-back double-doubles following his 12-point, 12-rebound performance against South Florida. He had 19 and 10 against TCU.

UAB comes into Saturday's game with an 8-11 overall mark, including 1-5 in C-USA play. The Blazers, who swept the season series from Tulane last year, have dropped four straight contests (to Southern Miss, Marquette, Houston and Memphis).

Leading the Blazers in scoring is senior guard P.J. Arnold with 13.1 points per game and 49 three-pointers. Morris Finley is another long-range marksman, having buried 43 trifectas. He is averaging 12.1 points per outing. Big man Will Campbell has 11.2 point and 8.1 rebounds per game.

Following the UAB game, the Wave returns home, hosting Marquette at 7 p.m. on Tuesday (Jan. 29) at Fogelman. Marquette has a formidable 16-3 overall record and has been ranked nationally this season.
