NEW ORLEANS ? Tulane men?s basketball player Sterling Davis was named Player of the Week by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association, the organization announced Tuesday.
Davis, a 6-foot-7, senior, forward, from Duncanville, Texas, led Tulane to a 2-0 week and extended its Conference USA win streak to three games by averaging 15.5 points and 8.0 rebounds in the two games.
He opened the week by posing his second career double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds in Wednesday?s win over South Florida. He followed that with a 17-point, five-rebound effort Sunday vs. UAB.
Davis currently leads Tulane with a 13.9 points per game average and ranks third on the team with a 4.5 rebounds per game mark. It is the first time in his career that Davis has earned Player of the Week accolades.
