NEW ORLEANS - After one of the worst offensive outings of the season on Thursday against Louisiana Tech, the Tulane men's basketball teams looks to bounce back when they host Rice on Saturday at 7 p.m. CT at Fogelman Arena in Devlin Fieldhouse.

The Green Wave (9-9, 1-2 C-USA) fell to the visiting Bulldogs on Thursday, 73-45, in the conference home opener, while Rice (5-11, 0-3 C-USA) dropped a 84-62 decision at Southern Miss for the squad's sixth straight loss.

Men's Basketball Rolls to 89-64 Win at Rice
Ricky Tarrant's 30 points and Josh Davis' 23 points-16 rebounds performance led the Tulane men's basketball team to an 89-64 victory over Rice on Saturday night in a Conference USA contest at Tudor Fieldhouse.


"Rice is a foe we are very familiar with, but every year is a new year and a new team," Tulane head coach Ed Conroy said. "Coach Braun does a good job with them. They really spread you out on the offensive end and make it very difficult to defend."

This will be the 52nd meeting between the two long-time rivals and the final time the teams with meet during the regular season as conference foes. Tulane owns a slim 26-24 series lead after sweeping the two meetings last season. The Green Wave is also 17-8 against the Owls in New Orleans.

Louis Dabney leads Tulane into the game with a 17.8 points per game scoring average, while Jonathan Stark is posting 16.2 points and a team-best 3.7 assists per game. Jay Hook is adding 14.3 points a game.

Rice also has three players averaging in double figures in scoring led by Austin Ramljak (12.7), Sean Obi (11.2) and Max Guercy (10.3).

Tulane hits the road for a pair of conference games on the east coast by visiting East Carolina on Thursday at 6 p.m. CT and Old Dominion on Saturday at 6 p.m. CT.
