NEW ORLEANS, La. - Tulane University and ISP Sports have announced that nine of Tulane's final 14 regular-season men's basketball games will be simulcast on WTIX 690 AM, as well as WTIX 94.3 FM.
"From the positive response we received in doing this during football season, we feel this will be an excellent way of allowing more Green Wave fans to follow the basketball team," said Wade Howell, general manager of Tulane ISP.
While all games will be broadcast on WTIX-FM, the following games have been added to WTIX-AM:
Saturday, Jan. 12 vs. Memphis
Saturday, Jan. 19 @ TCU
Wednesday, Jan. 23 vs. South Florida (tentative)
Tuesday, Jan. 29 vs. Marquette
Saturday, Feb. 2 vs. Southern Miss
Saturday, Feb. 9 @ South Florida
Tuesday, Feb. 19 @ Houston
Tuesday, Feb. 26 vs. TCU
Saturday, Mar. 2 vs. Saint Louis (tentative)
Tulane postseason action may also be simulcast on WTIX-AM subject to airtime availability. All Green Wave men's basketball games are also available on the internet by visiting www.TulaneGreenWave.com.
This Saturday's game against Memphis will post the highest attendance of the season for Tulane. Less than 400 tickets remain for the game.
The last sellout at Fogelman came during the 1996-97 season when 3,600 fans packed the house for the season finale against Louisville, an 83-71 victory. The Wave sold out the final seven home games of that season.
The 3,011 fans that attended the Nov. 16 season-opener with Loyola were the most fans at a Tulane men's hoop game at Fogelman Arena since Jan. 20, 1998 when 3,279 witnessed a 60-50 loss to Cincinnati. Last year's Fogelman high was 2,238 vs. South Florida.
