HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) -- Herd forward Tyler Wilkerson led a balanced attack with 15 points and 10 rebounds and Marshall beat Tulane 68-54 on Saturday night.

Darryl Merthie had 13 of his 14 points in the first half for Marshall. Tirrell Baines added 13 points and Mark Dorris scored 10.

Marshall (14-10, 6-5 Conference USA) never trailed, using a 16-3 run midway through the first half to jump ahead 37-25 at halftime.

Tulane (15-9, 5-5) got no closer than nine points in the second half after a David Gomez layup with 13:18 remaining made it 47-38.

Gomez led Tulane with 15 points on 3-of-5 shooting. Kevin Sims had 13 points and Donnavan Stith scored 12.

Marshall outrebounded Tulane 42-29 and now has its first three-game conference winning streak since joining Conference USA in 2005-06.
