BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Dylan Osean scored 18 points to top four Tulane scorers in double figures in an 80-64 Conference USA victory over Alabama-Birmingham Thursday night.
The Green Wave (8-7, 2-4 Conference USA) shot a season-high 54 percent from the floor in the second half and outrebounded the Blazers (14-6, 5-2) 39-29.
Ledaryl Billingsley had 15 points, three steals and a game-high nine rebounds for Tulane. Sterling Davis added 13 points and Waitari Marsh tossed in 11.
Fred Williams led UAB with 17 points and Antonio Jackson had 12. Torrey Ward and Damon Cobb had nine points apiece as the Blazers got only 10 points from its bench.
UAB shot just 39 percent from the floor and was 5-for-22 (23 percent) from 3-point range. The Blazers went just 2-for-11 from long-range in the second half after trailing 39-34 at halftime.
Tulane opened the second half 9-for-12 from the floor, including five 3-pointers, to take a 66-47 lead with 11:26 left. The Green Wave went 11-for-19 shooting in the second half (58 percent).
UAB couldn't get closer than 13 points, at 70-57, in the final 11 minutes. The Green Wave made 9-of-13 free throws down the stretch.
