NEW ORLEANS - Sterling Davis scored 14 points, Dylan Osean had 12 and Tulane got 42 points from its bench Thursday night en route to a 70-67 Conference USA victory over North Carolina-Charlotte.
Tulane (6-5 overall, 1-2 CUSA) led 37-28 halftime, then held off a late charge by the 49ers (8-6, 0-2).
Ledryl Billingsley and Byron Mouton, each with 11 points, led Tulane's substitutes. Ted Kritza added 9, Wade Mason 6 and Linton Johnson 5.
Diego Guevara's 24 points led UNCC. Galen Young had 12 points and Tremaine Gardiner added 11 as the 49ers made a meager 6 of 23 3-point goals.
