Tulane Men's Basketball Trip to NYC - Dec. 26-29, 2013

The Tulane men's basketball team traveled to New York City to face Kansas State in the Brooklyn Hoops Winter Festival.

AS A FRESHMAN(2013-14): Played in 26 games with three starts...Made his collegiate debut against Southern...Got the start against Northern Kentucky and posted two points, six rebounds, a block and a steal.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played for coach Dave Peter at California Lutheran High School... Averaged 16.4 points, 12.3 rebounds and 5.3 blocks per game during his senior season that was cut short by a knee injury in January...Despite missing time as a senior, earned all-league MVP and all-league defensive MVP honors...Totaled 14.5 points, 11.0 rebounds and 3.7 blocks per game during his high school career.

PERSONAL: Born Ryan Joseph Smith on June 19, 1995...Son of Rachel and Scott Smith...Has one brother, Brandon (17) and a sister, Alexis (20)...Also earned one letter playing football at CLHS as a TE and DE...Is a management major.
