Greetings to all you Wave fans out there. I hope you guys had a chance to catch some of last weekend’s games in Oxford on the radio if you weren’t able to see them live. What an amazing weekend, right? The energy circulating in our dugout this past weekend was something special. Plus, we turned Ole Miss’s stadium into a Turchin away from Turchin. The energy of the fans was something else. Thanks to all you guys who came out there to see us take the Oxford Regional in three straight games.

We started off the weekend by edging out the Washington Huskies 3-2, beating the Pac-10 Conference Pitcher of the Year. After that, the bats came alive and that was all she wrote as we won the final two games by margins of seven and nine runs, respectively. We had great starting pitching all weekend – which allowed our bullpen to rest a bit since we only had to use one reliever – and our defense resembled a Web Gems highlight reel. Added to that, we did it all on the road. Remarkably, that is the first time in the three years I’ve been at Tulane that we’ve went 3-0 on the road. We picked a great time to break that streak.

As for now, we just took off from the airport in New Orleans to head to the Fullerton, Calif., to take care of some business on the West Coast. Although we were hoping Pepperdine would edge out that Regional so we could host the Super Regional, we’re looking forward to playing the Cal State Fullerton Titans. We’re going to be playing on national television for the chance to get to Omaha. And if we need to go to California to do it, that’s fine with us.

I’ve heard that we’re going to have quite a few fans traveling with us to California. I know for sure that a lot of people will be watching from Louisiana, being that all of our games will be on ESPN2. You know how those TV analysts are, though. I advise everyone to mute the TV and listen to Graff and Sean on the radio (Graff is sitting next to me on the plane and I promised I would mix him into my post; that was the only way I could think of. If I have to play the part of the politician to keep people satisfied then so be it).

Ok, guys, that’s all I’ve got for now. I think I’m going sit next to Scotty Madden and watch Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Have a good one, and thanks for tuning in. Two more games till Omaha. Wahooo!

Roll Wave,
Tommy
