NEW ORLEANS - The Tulane baseball team will take the field this Tuesday for the first game of the annual and always exciting Fall Ball World Series. The Green and Blue teams will begin their five game series on Tuesday, October 30 and conclude the stanza on Sunday, November 4, with all games taking place inside the friendly confines of Greer Field at Turchin Stadium.
The teams will hit the diamond on Tuesday and first pitch is set for 2:45 p.m., while Thursday's contest will also begin at 2:45 p.m. Friday's game three will get underway at 3:30 p.m., while Saturday's match-up will feature a morning start at 11 a.m. Sunday's final game is set to start at 2 p.m.
Both teams will feature a 16-player roster. The Blue squad will be under the direction of former Green Wave standout pitcher, Shooter Hunt, as he begins his first season on the coaching staff at his alma mater, while Chad Sutter, a familiar face to Tulane fans, will direct the Green Team.
Hunt's squad will feature six pitchers in seniors David Napoli and Andrew Reeves, redshirt sophomores Randy LeBlanc and Tony Rizzotti and the freshmen tandem of Emerson Gibbs and Daniel Rankin, and the group will throw to catchers, redshirt junior Tyler Chamberlain-Simon and redshirt freshman Chad Vanaman.
The Blue infielders include seniors Garrett Cannizaro, Sean Potkay and Brennan Middleton, along with redshirt-junior Bowen Woodson, while the outfield will consist of juniors Andrew Garner, Max Goodman and freshman Chris LaVorgna, while freshman Matt Braud will be a utility player.
On the other side, Sutter's Green Team will be made up of seven pitchers, including senior Alex Byo and Tyler Mapes, redshirt juniors Kyle McKenzie and Greg Miller, junior Brady Wilson, sophomore Jordan Gross and freshman Ian Gibaut. The catchers will be senior Blake Crohan and freshman Cameron Burns.
The infield will be comprised of senior Tucker Oakley, redshirt junior Nick DiMaggio and freshmen Hunter Lapeyre and Chris Demetriades, while senior Brandon Boudreaux, junior Briggs Barrios and freshman Tim Yandel will patrol the outfield.
