New Orleans- With the 2009-2010 school year just underway, Tulane baseball is looking forward to its 2010 spring season, with its entire signing class remaining intact following the professional draft of first-year players by the Major League during the summer months.

With the largest incoming class since 1995, Rick Jones has welcomed 17 new additions to the Green Wave. Of the rookies, Mandeville, La., native Garrett Cannizaro and Kyle McKenzie of Boston, Mass., are among the incoming freshmen who were also selected in the 2009 draft, with both choosing to further their education and continuing their development on the field at Tulane.

Joining Cannizaro and McKenzie on the Green Wave roster will be members of the early signing day class, including Cody Robinson (Lamar Consolidated/Sugarland, Texas), Brennan Middleton (Parkview Baptist/Baton Rouge, La.), Blake Crohan (Lassiter/Roswell, Ga.), Bowen Woodson (Vicksburg/Vicksburg, Miss.), Brandon Boudreaux (St. Paul's School/Mandeville, La.), Brian Barry (Smithtown/Smithtown, N.Y.), Greg Miller (Avon Old Farms/Bristol, Conn.) and Adam Zabel (IMG Academy/Avon, Conn.).

The freshman class is rounded by Alex Byo (Parkview Baptist/Baton Rouge, La.), Nate Fury (Rummel/Harahan, La.), David Napoli (Newman/New Orleans, La.), Quinn Pippin (Fairfax County/McLean, Va.), and Matt Shortall (Jesuit College Prep/Dallas, Texas).

Gunner Wright (Grayson CC/Shawnee, Okla.) rounds out the group as the only junior college transfer and is joined by Frank Florio (Long Valley, N.J.), a transfer from Stetson University.

The incoming class, along with the 16 veterans, will get their fall baseball season started Oct. 6 at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium.
