Brandon Boudreaux - along with Bowen Woodson - was named to the Conference USA All-Academic Team on Monday

IRVING, Texas - Two Green Wave baseball players were honored by Conference USA on Monday, as senior Brandon Boudreaux and junior Bowen Woodson were named to the All-Academic Team for their efforts in the classroom.
Boudreaux, from Mandeville, La., graduated last weekend from the A.B. Freeman School of Business with a degree in management. He maintained a GPA of 3.69 throughout his academic tenure, while notching a 3.89 GPA last fall. He is a repeat selection to the squad, as he was named to the team in 2012.
Woodson, a native of Vicksburg, Miss., has posted a cumulative GPA of 3.45 while studying chemistry. He recorded a GPA of 3.75 in the fall of 2012.
Boudreaux has started 53 games this season, mostly in center field. He has posted a batting average of .236, while collecting nine doubles and 47 total hits. He leads the team with 31 walks, and is second on the team with a fielding percentage of .992 and 33 runs. He notched his 200th career hit against ECU on April 14. He has 12 multi-hit games to his name this year, and has swiped seven bases in ten attempts on the season.
Woodson has predominately manned second base, starting 41 games there, but has also seen time in right field and center field. The junior is one of five Greenies to hit a home run this season, and his 20 RBIs are fifth most on the team. He holds a batting average of .242 this year, and is perfect in his five steal attempts.
In order to be recognized, a student-athlete must hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.2, be of at least sophomore academic standing and be a starter or key reserve for their team.
The other recipients this year are Drew Reynolds (ECU, Jr., 3.43, Physical Education), Caleb Barker (Houston, Jr., 3.86, Organizational Leadership and Supervision), Daniel Poncedeleon (Houston, Jr. 3.27, Psychology), Ethan Gross (Memphis, Jr., 3.88, Supply Chain Management), Tucker Tubbs (Memphis, So., 3.90, Accounting), Sam Moll (Memphis, Jr., 3.71, Accounting), Zach Willis (Memphis, Jr., 3.88, Accounting), Austin Roussel (Southern Miss, Sr. 3.40, Construction Engineering), Ryan Prinzing (UAB, Jr., 3.62, Management), Tyler Mims (UAB, So., 3.92, Industrial Distribution) and Parker Webster (UCF, Jr., 3.50, Interdisciplinary Studies).
The Greenies will travel to Houston Monday afternoon for the Conference USA Championships. They will practice early Tuesday morning before playing Southern Miss at 3pm CT on Wednesday afternoon. The team will have Thursday off. Game two for the Green Wave will be played against ECU on Friday at 11am. The third game for the Greenies will be against Houston on Saturday at 3pm CT. The winner of the two pods will face each other in the Conference USA Championship Game on Sunday at 1pm CT.
