Michael Aubrey Named the Midseason Freshman of the Year

Baseball America named Michael Aubrey the Midseason Freshman of the Year and a Midseason All-American the publication announced in the April 30th edition.

Aubrey has given the Green Wave baseball team a huge lift on the mound and at the plate this season. He is hitting .358 on the season with 11 home runs and 10 doubles. Aubrey has driven in 49 runs.

The freshman had the game of his Tulane career against LSU at Alex Box Stadium. He was 4-for-6 with a career high five RBI and hit for the cycle. His home run was a two-run shot over the centerfield wall. Aubrey is the first player to hit for the cycle since 1999 when James Jurries hit for the cycle against Nicholls State in Thibodaux. For this accomplishment he was named the Conference USA Hitter of the Week and Louisiana State Player of the Week on March 12.

Aubrey recorded a career high two home runs in the April 14th game against Houston.

On the mound, Aubrey has a 1-0 record with a 6.66 ERA. Through 25 2/3 innings of work, he has struck out 18. Against UNO, Aubrey struck out a career high eight batters and picked up his first collegiate win.
