Gautreau Named Conference USA Hitter Of The Week

NEW ORLEANS - Tulane's Jake Gautreau was named the Conference USA Hitter of the Week after putting on an offensive display against Cincinnati this past weekend, the league office announced Monday.

Gautreau hit .438 (7-for-16) in four games on the week with a 1.000 slugging percentage and a .571 on-base percentage. He hit safely in all four games, scoring five runs and notching three doubles. Gautreau hit two home runs on the week and drove in eight runs, while walking three times. He posted two multiple hit games and two multiple RBI games in the Green Wave's weekend sweep at Cincinnati.

On the season, Gautreau has a .379 batting average, a team high eight home runs and 36 RBI.

Up next for Tulane is a Tuesday night meeting with Nicholls State at Turchin Stadium. First pitch is at 6:30 p.m. The Green Wave travels to Louisiana-Lafayette on Wednesday for a 7:00 p.m., game against the nationally ranked Ragin Cajuns.
