NEW ORLEANS, La. - Tulane outfielder Matt Groff received Conference USA Hitter of the Week Honors for his major contribution in the Green Wave's four wins last week.
Groff hit a .438 through four games and sent in a team high seven runs. He posted a .471 on base percentage with three stolen bases in three attempts. Of Groff's seven hits, three were multi base and he recorded a .812 slugging percentage. Against Cincinnati on Saturday, Groff went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI.
On the season Groff is hitting .407 with 22 RBI. He is 9-of-11 in stolen bases. With hits in all of last week's game, Groff is currently on a seven-game hitting streak.
The Green Wave moved up four spots to 23rd in the Collegiate Baseball Division I Baseball Poll for Monday March 26th. Tulane is on a four-game winning streak.
This week the Wave hosts Louisiana-Lafayette on Tuesday, March 27 at
6:30 p.m. On Wednesday, March 28 at Turchin Stadium, Tulane and Nicholls
State will make up the rained out game missed earlier this season. First
pitch is 6:30 p.m.
