Conference USA play begins on March 16, as Tulane hosts South Florida. The Green Wave's league opener is set for Friday at 6:30 p.m. Saturday's game is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. and Sunday the first pitch is 1:00 p.m.

This is the 31st meeting between these teams and Tulane holds a narrow 16-14 advantage. Last year the Wave was 2-1 at South Florida. In the past six meetings, each team has won three games.

Tulane enters the series with a 17-3 record, the best in C-USA. They are on a seven-game winning streak, one shy of its season high eight. As a team the Wave is hitting .326 and has a combined ERA of 4.37.

On the mound for Tulane on Friday is sophomore Matt Foster. He is 4-1 on the season, the most wins in C-USA, with a 1.93 ERA, second best in the league. Saturday's starter will be junior Beau Richardson who has a 4-0 record, a conference high in wins, and a 2.38 ERA. Senior Barth Melius will start on Sunday. He is 2-0 on the season with a 7.32 ERA.

South Florida enters this weekend's series on a five-game losing streak. Most recently the Bulls dropped a pair of games to No. 7 Miami. They are hitting .307 as a team and have a 6.22 ERA.

Starting for USF on Friday is senior John Vigue (1-2, 4.39 ERA). Junior John Gorham (2-3, 4.40 ERA) will start on Saturday and the Wave will see senior Shannon Royal (1-2, 8.59 ERA) on Sunday.

The broadcast schedule for the baseball games will depend on the sucess of the women's basketball team in the NCAA Tournament. On Friday, the game will be internet only at www.TulaneGreenWave.com. On Saturday the game will be broadcast on the internet as well as 88.3 FM WRBH. If the women's basketball team advances, the Sunday baseball game will be internet only. If the women do not advance the game will be on radio and internet.

From March 20 until the end of the season, all of the Tulane baseball games will be broadcast locally on 88.3 FM WRBH and nationally on the internet at www.TulaneGreenWave.com.
