February 28, 1999

Tulane (8-3) completed a three game sweep of Manhattan College (2-5) with a 10-3 win Sunday afternoon at Turchin Stadium. LHP Jared Robinson (2-0) picked up his second win of the year, while Tulane improved to 8-3 on the season.

Manhattan was the first team to put a run on the board, but Tulane took the lead in the third inning with a Chad Sutter RBI double which allowed Andy Cannizaro to score. The Jaspers fought to come within four runs of the Wave in the top of the seventh, but a Taylor Brown balk allowed 1B Mickey McKee to score giving Tulane the 8-5 advantage. Outfielder Matt Groff added insurance in the bottom of the seventh with an RBI double.

Robinson pitched five innings for Tulane, giving up one run and striking out two batters.

The Green Wave was led by senior outfielder Jason Sparks who went 2-for-3 with one home run, one RBI and two runs scored. Sparks' second inning home run was his first of the season. Senior DH Chad Sutter went 2-for-4, recording two RBI and one double.

Tulane plays host to Southeastern Louisiana on Tuesday, March 2. The game is set to begin at 6:30 p.m.
