Tulane Baseball Raises Record to 7-3 with Win over Manhattan

The Tulane Green Wave is now 7-3 on the season with a 14-5 win over Manhattan Saturday afternoon. Jake Gautreau (3B), Chad Sutter (C) and James Jurries (2B) each hit two home runs in the game.

Freshman RHP Bryan Vogel (1-0) picked up his first win of the season. With five innings pitched, Vogel gave up six hits and struck out one. Raul Echeverz relieved Vogel in the sixth inning and had a game-high two strikeouts. Tom Foley (1-1) received the loss for Manhattan.

Senior Sutter went 3-for-5 with two home runs, three runs scored and four RBI. Jurries, who now has a season batting average of .405, recorded two hits, three runs and four RBI. With the two home runs hit today, Jurries season total is three, Gautreau has seven and Sutter has four.

Tulane plays Manhattan Sunday at 1 p.m. at Turchin Stadium.
