As a team, Tulane (6-3) hit a season-high six home runs and 12 RBI in Friday night's victory over Manhattan College (2-3). Freshman Jake Gautreau hit two out of the park bringing his season total to five. Junior LHP Jared Berkowitz (1-2) picked up his first win of the season.
Entering the bottom of the sixth, Tulane led the Jaspers 7-1, with Manhattan's only run of the game scored in the third inning. The Green Wave hit three home runs in the sixth inning, resulting in five runs on the board. Paul Boudreaux and James Jurries both recorded their first home runs of the season, while Gautreau hit his second of the game.
Gautreau went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate and recorded three RBI. Senior Jake Burnham went 3-for-5 in the game with one homer, one double, one RBI and two runs scored. Chad Sutter went 1-for-3 on the evening, hitting a solo home run in the fourth and scoring three runs for the Green Wave.
In six innings, Berkowitz recorded zero earned runs and struck out, a season-high, seven batters.
Manhattan's Steven Van Cura (0-2) dropped his second game of the season.
