NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Tulane University baseball doubleheader against Texas-Arlington Saturday at Turchin Stadium has been cancelled due to unplayable field conditions.

The two teams are now scheduled to play two nine-inning games on Sunday beginning at noon. The third game between the Green Wave and Mavericks will not be played, and Tulane will add a game against a yet-to-be determine opponent at a later date.

The cancellation was the third change for Tulane's season opener as the first game was originally slated for Friday night at 6:30 p.m. The game was moved to Saturday for a scheduled doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m., but a steady rain forced the Green Wave staff to schedule a single game for Saturday and play two on Sunday.

The weather finally cleared at approximately 4 p.m. and the players removed the tarp from the infield, but despite the tireless efforts of the Tulane Grounds Krewe, the field was too saturated with water and the game was called.
