New Orleans - WMTI FM 106.1 `The Ticket' is the new radio flagship station for Tulane University men's and women's basketball and baseball teams, as it was announced today by both CUMULUS of New Orleans and Tulane Athletics.
The Tulane men's basketball team will make its debut on the station when the Green Wave travels to Memphis to battle the Tigers on Tuesday, Jan. 22 at 7 p.m. The Tulane women's basketball games are currently airing on the station, while the Green Wave baseball team will make its debut when it opens the 2013 season on Friday, Feb. 15 vs. Sam Houston State at 6 p.m. Tulane Athletics is currently working on conflicts in sports overlaps and will announce those changes at a later date.
WMTI FM 106.1 "The Ticket" signed on in 1991 and is currently affiliated with CBS Sports Radio. With approximately 525 stations in 110 cities, CUMULUS is the largest pure-play radio company in the US and one of the nation's top providers of local marketing solutions.
In addition to broadcasting Tulane men's and women's basketball and baseball home and away games, the station will also carry call-in shows men's basketball coach Ed Conroy and women's basketball coach Lisa Stockton, as well as head baseball coach Rick Jones. Dates and the site of the baseball shows will be announced at a later date.
