Baseball Falls to Southern Miss, 4-3

Both teams conclude regular season on Sunday.

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth to defeat Tulane 4-3 on Saturday.

Jonathan Broadus' two out single to right center scored Michael Artman with the winning run as Southern Miss won its second consecutive game in their final at bat against Tulane.

USM's Danny Shupe (6-0) tossed 2 2/3 innings of hitless relief to pick up his sixth victory of the year. The Green Wave's Bradon Belanger (3-4) got the loss in relief of Jared Berkowitz, who threw 8 1/3 strong innings allowing only two earned runs.

Tulane's Jake Gautreau and Nick Herz both had two hits and an RBI apiece.

Tulane and Southern Miss are tied for second place in Conference USA with 18-8 records.

The two teams conclude the regular season at 1:00 on Sunday.
