Head Coach R. Jones

Opening Statement
"I thought we played really well defensively. I thought that we had a lot of chances there defensively where they could have really done some damage, but we made some really good defensive plays. Alex Byo on the mound, Jeremy Schaffer at first...and Garrett (Cannizaro) made a great play on a ball where he didn't panic. We have a drill we call "No Panic Drill" and that's one of the things that we do; and he didn't. I thought we ran the bases really well tonight. We were back on line drives and we didn't make any miscues. I thought we did a good job of taking the extra base when we were supposed to. We had thirteen hits, but we still are not cashing in, and you've got to give credit to the pitchers, but we're not cashing in in situations where I think we could really do some damage often enough. I would like to see us do a better job of that. Having said that, I thought the other two phases we were good."

On Byo's performance
"It took him a while to really get his stuff going. He battled through, but we had a two out walk in the first, a two out walk in the second (inning). He was struggling with his command after having nine days off. I thought the last couple (innings) he was much better with his command. The key for him is fastball down in the zone, and he's got to have that changeup going....that changeup is an out pitch for him. He had the fastball up in the zone early and that's when he has his struggles, but we made some defensive plays. But then to his credit, he settled in."

On the no-hit streak entering the sixth inning
"I thought we played well defensively, and he made some pitches. He did what he's supposed to do out there."

On Schneeberger's performance at the plate
"They were opposite field (hits). When Nick's really swinging it well, he'll turn on the ball occasionally, but that's his (mode of operation). I thought tonight he really put a couple of good swings on some balls. That first one down the right field line has a lot of backspin on it. He got into that one pretty good."

On the offenses performance
"It's too early to say anything about that. We're facing their best arm tomorrow. You can look at his numbers, they're really good."
