Baseball Falls to No. 17 Arizona

NEW ORLEANS, LA. - The Tulane (11-5) baseball team dropped Sunday's game to No. 17 Arizona (16-8) 3-9, posting a 2-1 record against the Wildcats this weekend.

Tulane's RHP Henry Bonilla (3-1) pitched 5 1/3 innings before being relieved by LHP Raul Echeverz. Bonilla struck out six, gave up eight hits, four earned runs and picked up his first loss of the season. Echeverz struck out four and gave up three earned runs in 3 2/3 innings pitched.

A solo home run by Arizona's Dennis Anderson (C) gave the Wildcats a 4-1 lead in the fourth inning. The Green Wave tried to get a rally going in the eighth when Nick Herz scored on a Chad Sutter double followed by a Jake Burnham RBI single, but Arizona maintained a six run lead.

Wildcat's Ben Diggins pitched his first complete game in his college career, striking out eight and giving up eight hits.

Chad Sutter (DH) led the Wave going 2-for-3 with one RBI, one double and a run scored.

Tulane plays Nicholls State in Thibodaux, La., on Tuesday at 6:30 pm.
