2006: Redshirted his first season in the Green Wave program...served as bullpen catcher for non-conference home the diamond, was a member of the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll and Tulane's 3.0 Club.

Summer Ball: Played first base, catcher and outfielder for the Luray Wranglers of the Valley League in 2006...hit .270 with three doubles, three home runs, 20 RBI and three stolen bases.

High School: Three-year letterman as a catcher, third baseman and outfielder at Loyola High for coach Chris Beck...earned all Mission Valley League honors each year, All-California Interscholastic Federation, all-city and all-region honors his final two prep seasons and Silver Slugger recognition as a sophomore and senior...helped lead the Cubs to a school-record 22 wins and the league championship en route to earning team MVP as a senior...hit .486 with seven home runs as a senior, .423 as a junior and .400 as a sophomore...also played for Long Beach Connie Mack League for three the diamond, twice earned Academic Achievement Scholarship honors.

Personal: Born Samuel Edward Wiley on Dec. 28, 1986 in London, England...son of Edward Wiley and Sharon Howard-Field...has three brothers: Nate, Zack and Luke; and one sister, Sylvie...father, Edward, played baseball at the U.S. Naval Academy, and great-grandfather Edward Schneider played semi-pro baseball...triple majoring in English, history and classics.
