2002: Appeared in 18 games as a sophomore, all out of the bullpen...tied for second on the team among relievers in opponent batting average (.267), giving up 20 hits in 18.0 innings of work...used as a short-term reliever/set-up man, posted five multiple-strikeout games, including a career-best three-strikeout performances on three occasions...struck out the side in 1.0 inning of relief against Nicholls State (April 2) and at South Florida (May 11)...longest outing of the year came at Memphis when he tossed 1.2 innings while striking out three...recorded shutout performances in 10 of his outings, and did not allow a hit in seven appearances...closed out the last two games Tulane played in at the Conference USA Tournament, allowing only one hit in 2.0 innings.

High School: Four-year letterman at Newman High for coach Billy Fitzgerald, seeing time at center field and on the mound...helped the Greenies win four District 9-2A Championships and the state title as a senior...twice earned all-district and all-metro honors...as a senior, earned Baseball Factory third-team All-America honors and all-state recognition...named team's best defensive player as a sophomore and earned the John Overloy Team MVP Award as a junior and senior...a three-sport star at Newman, lettering three times in football and four years in soccer, voted team captain and MVP of all three squads as a senior...earned all-state football honors twice and helped the Greenie soccer team win the state title as a junior.
