High School: Four-year letterman at Klein Oak High for coach Dale Westmoreland...helped lead the Panthers to a combined 107-30 record in four seasons...finished prep career ranked as the 13th overall prospect and No. 1 infielder by Baseball America, and the No. 8 high school prospect by a senior, earned All-America honors from Nike, Louisville Slugger and Baseball America (second team) and was tabbed Greater Houston Area Player of the Year after hitting .500 with nine home runs, 29 RBI, 39 runs scored, 26 stolen bases and a .646 on-base percentage...named all-state and All-Greater Texas his final two seasons and was a two-time RBI National Team and Team USA Junior National Team a junior, hit 535 with four homers, 23 stolen bases, 34 RBI and 36 runs...with the Junior National Team in 2002, hit .385 with a home run, two doubles and four RBI as Team USA went 7-1 and won the bronze medal at the World Junior Championships in Quebec...also named to Perfect Game Wooden Bat All-Tournament Team in the diamond, was a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, Abbott Society and National Honor Roll...named Mr. Klein Oak High School and earned Greater Houston Area Student-Athlete of the Year honors as a senior, and graduated with a 3.99 GPA.
