Anne Smallwood is in her second season as an assistant athletic trainer at Tulane where she works with the baseball and football teams.
Smallwood came to Tulane from the University of New Mexico where she worked with baseball, track and field, softball, volleyball and swimming and diving programs while assisting with football game and practice coverage.
In addition, Smallwood served as the trainer for the Anchorage Glacier Pilots of the Alaska Baseball League in each of the last two summers.
A member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association, Smallwood earned her master's degree in sports administration from New Mexico. She went to UNM after graduating from Appalachian State in May 2003 with a degree in athletic training. During her time in Boone, the native of Elizabeth City, N.C., worked as a student assistant in the Mountaineers athletic training room.
