High School: Four-year letterman at Geneva High for coach Gary Spratt...earned All-Suburban Prairie Conference honors as a sophomore, junior and senior, and claimed All-Chicagoland and Area Code Team honors in each of his final two prep seasons...as a senior hit .535 with 11 home runs...as a junior, hit .405 with 10 home runs...during his senior season, went 5-for-5 against Glenbard South with two home runs, including a grand slam, and nine RBI...also lettered twice in basketball where he averaged 13 points per game, earned all-state and All-Chicago honors, and was nominated for the Wendy's High School Heisman award.
