2009 (Freshman): Earned Freshman All-American honors from Baseball America, Collegiate Baseball Magazine, National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and Rivals.com...named First Team All-Conference USA...was a member of the Conference USA All-Freshman Team...started 57 games at either catcher (50) or designated hitter (seven)...third on the team with a .311 batting average...second on the team with 14 home runs, 56 runs batted in and a .566 slugging percentage...his 14 home runs tied for sixth in Conference USA...posted 20 multi-hit games and 16 multi-RBI games, both second on the team...held an 11-game hit streak from March 20 to April 5...posted a two-for-four day with three RBI and a home run against LeMoyne (Feb. 22)...racked up three RBI on a three-for-three day at the plate with a double and a triple against UC Irvine (March 13)...homered and posted three RBI in back-to -back games against Northern Colorado (March 21 & 22)...blasted two home runs to go with four RBI and four runs scored in a three-for-four performance against UCF (April 11)...season-high five runs batted in against Nicholls State as part of a two-for-three day with a home run...also added a three-for-four day with three RBI and a homer against UNO (April 22).

Prep: Four-year letterman at Bellaire High School in Bellaire, Texas for coach Rocky Manuel...batted .404 with eight home runs, 40 RBI during his senior campaign while tallying 12 home runs and 58 RBI during his junior year...earned all-state honors during his junior and seniors years, in addition to all-district distinctions in 2006-2008...led the Cardinals to a Region 3 Championship in 2008 while also being selected to play in the Texas State 5A-4A All-Star game...finished his prep career with 22 home runs.
