2008: Appeared in 15 games, including eight starts, as a sophomore...went 2-3 with a 5.66 ERA and a .283 opponent batting average in 47.2 innings of work...earned victories over Oakland (March 15) and Sacred Heart (March 22)...tossed a season-long 7.0 innings in each of those games, including a five-hit shutout performance during his time on the hill against Oakland...had four or more strikeouts six times, including a season-best six Ks in a 6.0-inning start at Minnesota in the 2008 Dairy Queen Classic (Feb. 23)...did not issue a walk in four of his appearances and tossed a perfect frame of relief at Memphis (April 26).
2007: Appeared in 17 games as a true freshman, including a pair of starts... tied for second among Tulane relievers in wins (two) while posting a 4.37 ERA, 36 strikeouts and a .289 opponent batting average in 35.0 innings of work...came on late, tossing 21.0 innings with a 3.00 ERA and 23 strikeouts in the final month of the season...in his first collegiate start, earned a victory over UAB (5/6) after fanning five and allowing just one run on seven hits in 4.1 innings of work...longest outing of the year came against East Carolina in the Conference USA Tournament (5/26) when he fanned three and gave up just a pair of earned runs in 6.1 innings...struck out a career-best eight in 5.1 innings of relief against UNO (5/1)...posted eight multiple-strikeout performances, including a string of six straight to close out the year...did not allow a hit in four games and held opponents without an earned run on eight occasions.
Summer Ball: Played for the Vienna Senators of the Clark Griffith Collegiate Baseball League in 2007...named No. 1 prospect in the CGCL by Baseball America after leading the league in wins (eight), ERA (0.98), and innings pitched (tied at 55.0) while ranking second in strikeouts (63)...named to All-CGCL Team after going 8-0, tallying a .174 opponent batting average and posting a 4.5 strikeout-to-walk ratio with just 14 walks during his time on the hill.
High School: Four-year starter at Hahnville High for coaches Mark Sims and Frank Cazeaux...helped lead the Tigers to four state playoff appearances...posted a combined 32-7 record and fanned 121 during his prep career...a two-time first-team All-District 6-5A and all-metro honoree, was the lone underclassmen on the 2004 all-state team after posting a 10-0 record and a 1.02 ERA...went 6-2 as a freshman, 7-2 as a sophomore and 9-3 as a senior...tossed a complete-game no-hitter against Terrebonne High as a sophomore.
