2001: Appeared in nine games as a redshirt freshman, all in relief...did not allow a single run in five outings and did not give up a hit on two occasions...came out of the bullpen to earn the victory at Southeastern Louisiana (April 4) when he gave up just two hits in 1.1 scoreless innings...longest outing of the year came at Louisville (May 11) when he pitched 3.0 innings to earn his first career save...walked just one batter all season in 9.0 innings of work.

2000: Redshirted in his first season with the Green Wave program.

High School: Three-year letterman at Lansing High for coach Jack Shafferman...as a senior, struck out 49 with a 3.65 ERA and a 9.8 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 37.0 innings of work, earning all-district honors...participated in the World Showcase Games in 1998...allowed just two runs in 10.0 innings in the 1999 AAU National Tournament, earning all-league honors...off the diamond, was a member of the National Honor Society and the state champion debate team...served as the editor of the yearbook.
