2003: Played in 33 games as a true freshman, including 24 starts at third base...limited at times due to a broken hamate bone in his right wrist, but still hit .237 with two doubles, a triple and seven RBI...had three multiple-hit games, including a career-best 4-for-5 showing at Saint Louis (4/27)...posted two multiple-walk games, including a career-high three at Louisville (5/10) when he went 1-for-2 at the plate and scored three runs...late in the season, reinjured the chipped bone in his wrist, but played in three games as a defensive replacement in the C-USA Tournament and another three in the NCAA Regionals...away from the field, earned C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll recognition.
