142 Tulane Student-Athletes Named to American All-Academic Team

Women's Cross Country/Track & Field led the way with 34 honorees

2015 (Sophomore): Appeared in 11 games, starting all 11 in center field...batted .229 with six runs, eight hits, two doubles, two home runs, six RBI, two walks, one sacrifice fly and one sacrifice hit...notched a slugging percentage of .457 with an on-base percentage of .300...posted two multi-hit games and one multi-RBI game...clubbed his first-career home run during the season-opener at Pepperdine (2/13) while picking up two RBI...went 2-for-4 with two runs and a double at Pepperdine (2/14)...hit a solo homer against San Francisco (2/22)...singled with an RBI against New Orleans (2/25)...injured his shoulder in an attempt to make a diving catch against Creighton (2/28) and subsequently missed the remainder of the season.

2014 (Freshman): Appeared in 29 games, including 18 starts (13 in left field, five in right field)...batted .228 with six runs, 13 hits, three doubles, six RBI, four walks, four stolen bases and one sacrifice fly...notched four multi-hit games...scored his first run and recorded his first stolen base against Arkansas-Pine Bluff (2/16) in his first collegiate appearance...notched his first hit and his first RBI in his first collegiate start against Louisiana Tech (2/22)...scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the tenth against McNeese State (4/15)...went 2-for-4 with one run and two doubles against Wichita State (4/26)...recorded RBI in four-straight games from April 29 against Nicholls State to May 4 against Southern Miss...went 3-for-3 with one run, one double, one RBI and a walk against Southern Miss (3/3)...went 20for-4 with a run and a stolen base against Southern Miss (3/4)...notched a 2-for-4 day at the plate against FIU (5/15).

Prep: Was a four-year letterman at Gulfport High School in Gulfport, Miss....played outfield in high school...helped lead his team to a 19-10 record during his senior season...batted .372 with six home runs and 25 RBI while scoring 33 runs...earned All-District 8 honors, as well as 6A Coaches' All-State Second Team honors during his senior year...named to the 2013 Clarion-Ledger Second Team All-State squad during his senior campaign...named to the 2013 South 4A/5A/6A Mississippi Coaches' All-Star Team...named to the 2013 MHSAA Baseball Fab 15 Seniors list...a member of the 2013 Clarion-Ledger Dandy Dozen baseball team...played club baseball for the Akadema Prospects.

Personal: Born Grant Austin Brown on November 30, 1994...son of Jaqueline and Fontello Brown...has one older brother, Eric, one older sister, Ashley LeBlanc, and one younger sister, Fallon...plans to major in environmental biology at Tulane.
