Finance and Management

2007: Started one game in the outfield for the Green Wave against Chicago State (5/19), but did not record any statistics on the season after coming back from a shoulder injury.

2006: Did not play after undergoing successful shoulder surgery to repair a left labrum tear in January...received a medical redshirt...off the diamond, was a member of Tulane's 3.0 Club.

2005: Started all 17 games in which he appeared as a junior...named second-team All-Conference USA after ranking second on the team in opponent batting average (.260), third in wins (10) and strikeouts (83), and fourth in ERA (4.86)...ranked fourth in C-USA and 28th in the NCAA in wins while ranking third in the league in games started, seventh in strikeouts, 12th in innings pitched...posted five-plus strikeouts 10 times, including a career-best 10 at New Orleans (4/5) and vs. Memphis (5/8)...did not allow a run in 26.0 consecutive innings from March 22-April 18...named C-USA Co-Pitcher of the Week after fanning 10 and giving up just three hits in a complete-game shutout win at UNO (4/5)...also named Louisville Slugger National Co-Pitcher of the Week and College Baseball Foundation Honor Roll after starting a no-hitter vs. Nicholls State (4/12) with one strikeout in two perfect innings...off the diamond, was a member of Tulane's 3.0 Club.

2004: Started all 17 games in which he appeared as a sophomore...named first-team All-Conference USA and All-Louisiana after leading team in ERA (3.39) and complete games (tied with three) while ranking second in opponent batting average (.267), wins (8), strikeouts (76) and innings pitched (103.2), third in pickoffs (tied with 2), fourth in strikeouts-per-nine (6.60) and fifth in strikeout-to-walk ratio (2.53)...finished second in C-USA in games started, third in ERA, sixth in innings pitched, eighth in wins and strikeouts, and tied for ninth in strikeouts looking (26)...tallied five or more strikeouts eight times, including two nine-strikeout games and a career-best 10 punchouts vs. UMBC (2/21)...posted back-to-back complete game wins over C-USA foes Southern Miss (6H, 1ER, 2BB, 5K) and Memphis (8H, 1ER, 1BB, 7K)...named to the NCAA Oxford Regional All-Tournament Team after throwing his first complete-game shutout over Western Kentucky (6/5) when he fanned seven while walking just one and scattering four hits (three singles and a double) to send Tulane to the championship game undefeated...also claimed Louisiana Sports Writers Association Pitcher of the Month for February after going 3-0 with a 0.95 ERA in three starts with 22 strikeouts and three walks in 19.0 innings pitched, and LSWA Pitcher of the Week on April 26 for his complete-game win over Southern Miss...off the diamond, was a member of Tulane's 3.0 Club.

2003: Appeared in 17 games, including 16 starts, as a true freshman...named Freshman All-American by Baseball America and Collegiate Baseball, tabbed Conference USA Freshman of the Year, Louisiana Co-Freshman of the Year, first-team All-Louisiana and C-USA All-Freshman Team honors after leading the team in strikeouts (73), complete games (tied with 2), opponent batting average (.262) and innings pitched (106.0) while ranking second on the squad in wins (8) and ERA (3.40)...ranked second in C-USA in runners picked off (5), tied for sixth in wins and games started and seventh in innings pitched...tossed at least 6.0 innings in 10 of his 15 starts, including complete-game victories against Houston (4/12) and at Saint Louis (4/26)...tallied five or more strikeouts on six occasions, including a season-high seven on four occasions...limited opponents to two or fewer earned runs 10 times, including shutout performances in a 5.0-inning start against George Mason (2/16) and in an 8.0-inning start against Memphis (3/22)...had a 6.20 strikeout-per-nine-inning average and a 2.21 strikeout-to-walk ratio.

Summer Ball: Pitched for the Bourne Braves of the Cape Cod League in 2005...went 3-1 with a 1.50 ERA, 14 strikeouts and a .231 opponent batting average in 31.2 innings of work.

High School: Four-year letterman at Atlantic High where he pitched and played centerfield for coach Dave Smith...set Atlantic High career records for games pitched (52), wins (30) and strikeouts (392) as a pitcher while setting offensive marks for most hits (161) and steals (78)...twice tied the school-record of 17 strikeouts in a game and pitched a no-hitter against South Fork on April 2, 2002...named first-team all-state in his final two prep seasons...as a senior, named Florida 5A Player of the Year and finished second in the state Mr. Baseball voting while claiming first-team All-County honors from the Sun Sentinel, Palm Beach Post and Boca News after leading the state with 145 strikeouts...as a junior, went 7-4 with a 1.80 ERA and 91 strikeouts in 165 innings of work en route to being named Boca News Player of the Year...also lettered three years in golf, earning second-team all-state honors as a senior...off the diamond, member of the National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society and was twice nominated to Who's Who Among American High School Students.
