2001: Appeared in 14 games on the mound as a sophomore, including 10 starts...played in 31 games overall, including four starts at designated hitter...suffered an injury in the middle of the year, but came back strong during the Green Wave's run to the College World Series, tallying a 4.01 ERA with a 3-0 record and a 9.36 strikeouts-per-nine mark in his final seven appearances...no performance was bigger than his outing in game three of the NCAA Super Regional against LSU (June 2) when he tied a career-high with nine strikeouts in 6.2 innings of work to earn the victory in the 9-4 win which sent Tulane to the CWS for the first time ever...also earned wins vs. Houston (April 15) and at Southern Miss (April 22)...struck out eight in 7.0 innings against UAB (April 29)...tied a career-high with three RBI at Louisiana-Lafayette (Feb. 13) when he went 2-for-4 with a double.

2000: Saw action in 35 games as a true freshman, including nine starts at first base and 16 at designated hitter, while appearing in six games on the mound with three starts...earned Conference USA All-Freshman Team honors...at the plate, recorded four multiple-hit games and three multiple-RBI contests...had a 14-game hitting streak from Feb. 25 through March 19 when he hit .319 (15-for-47)...had a season-high three hits and three RBI vs. Manhattan College (March 11)...on the mound, struck out a career-high nine batters in his first two starts against McNeese State (Feb. 15) and at Nicholls State (Feb. 22)...earned a win in his first appearance, a start against McNeese State, when he struck out nine while giving up six hits and three earned runs in 7.1 innings of work.

High School: Four-year starter at Barbe High for coach Glenn Cechinni...saw time at first base and on the mound...for his career, set school marks with a .427 batting average, 330 at-bats, 141 hits, 28 home runs, 140 RBI and 63 extra-base hits...was equally effective from the mound where he set Barbe career records with a 1.35 ERA, 9.3 strikeouts per game and three no-hitters...was a four-time all-district 3-5A honoree, a three-time first-team all-state and all-Southwest Louisiana honoree, a two-time Mr. Baseball Louisiana recipient and the Southwest Louisiana MVP as a junior...in 1999, earned Gatorade High School All-America team and USA Today All-USA High School team recognition, and was named the Louisiana Player of the Year by both organizations...as a senior, went 8-1 with a 0.81 ERA while holding opponents to a .098 batting average and hit .404 with 16 home runs and 16 stolen bases...helped Barbe go a combined 121-16 during prep career, including the state championship as a junior.
