Career: A local product who saw time in 78 games while starting in 36 during his career...played in both the infield and the outfield during his career...served as a student assistant with the coaching staff during his senior year after an injury forced him to retire...leaves school in the top-30 in Tulane history in sacrifice hits with nine.

2014 (Senior): Served as a student assistant coach during the 2014 season...helped plan practices and was an integral part of game preparation.

Earned Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll honors, as well as the C-USA Academic Medal for maintaining a cumulative-GPA of 3.75 or better.

2013 (Junior): Appeared in 25 games, making 14 starts (12 in right field two in left field)...batted .154 with eight hits, two runs, three doubles and three RBI...started in right field on opening day versus Sam Houston State (2/15)...had back-to-back multi-hit games in early February, going 2-for-5 with one run and one RBI versus Missouri State (2/17), followed by a 2-for-4 performance with one run and a double against Southeastern Louisiana (2/19)...recorded doubles against Northwestern State (3/6) as a pinch-hitter as well as against High Point (3/8)...notched singles at Alabama (3/1), and an RBI single against UTSA (3/16)...season ended prematurely due to a hip injury.

Earned Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll and Academic Medal honors.

2012 (Sophomore): Appeared in 19 games with nine starts...all nine starts came in centerfield...posted one multi-hit and one multi-RBI contest...carried a five game hitting streak from March 25 - April 4...reached base in 12 of 19 games in 2012...walked, doubled and drove in an RBI as a pinch hitter against Brown (3/17)...singled as a pinch hitter against UMBC (3/25)...had a hit in all three games at Memphis (3/30-4/1) with his first career multi-RBI game in the series finale...tied the school record for walks in a game with four against Alcorn State (4/4) and chipped in a single...singled, walked twice and scored a run against #9 Rice (4/6)...also walked against #9 Rice (4/7) and Nicholls State (4/10)...walked and plated an RBI against Southern Miss (5/4).

2011 (Freshman): Appeared in 34 games with 13 starts...drove in the game winning run versus Southeastern Louisiana (3/15)...posted three multi-hit games...drove in an RBI in his first collegiate at-bat, a pinch hit appearance, with a sacrifice fly against Sam Houston State (2/18) in the season opener...was two for three at Southeastern Louisiana (2/22)...walked and was hit by a pitch in the second game of a series with George Washington (2/26)...went two-for-four in the second game of a series at Ole Miss (3/5)...walked three times, scored a run and stole a base in the series finale at Ole Miss (3/6)...doubled for one of his two hits against Wichita State in the second game of the series (3/12)...singled, scored a run and drove in an RBI against Southeastern Louisiana (3/15)...walked and scored a run in the series finale at Marshall (5/15).

Prep: Lettered three times for head coach Tim Parenton and Joey Latino at Jesuit High School...garnered All-Louisiana Honorable Mention accolades during his final season with the Blue Jays...was an All-District pick during his senior season at first base...was a recipient of the Rusty Staub Award for the baseball player that exhibits leadership, sportsmanship and spirit while at JHS...in the classroom, was the Valedictorian of his graduating class...won the AP Scholar Award...played summer baseball for the New Orleans Boosters and finished runner-up in the Louisiana State Legion Tournament.

Personal: Born Benjamin Briggs Barrios on July 10, 1991...the son of Gregg and Shari Barrios...has one brother, James...father, Gregg, graduated from Tulane in 1984.
