I chose Tulane because... it was a great opportunity to not only win a Division I national title, but to attend one of the elite universities in the nation.
The best part about playing baseball at Tulane is... you get to learn from some of the best and most experienced coaches in college baseball.
My goals for this season are... individually, to contribute to the team in any way needed, and, as a team, to use our mistakes of last year to our advantage this year as a veteran ball club.
Do you have any pregame rituals/superstitions? Yes, but they vary from game day to game day. I might have one superstition one day, and then a completely different one the next.
What is your favorite thing to do outside of baseball? I like to relax and hang out with friends, and enjoy doing nothing.
What is your favorite food? Favorite Game Day Meal? My favorite food is any good Jambalaya mix. My favorite meal to eat on Game Day is Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches. Lots of them.
If you could play for any MLB team, who would it be? I would play for the Cleveland Indians. I have family from the northeast region of Ohio who are big Indians fans, and I grew up loving the Indians through the good and the bad.
Who was your idol growing up? My idol was my older brother because I always wanted to do exactly what he did when I got to his age, and we had similar personalities. He also played college baseball, and I really wanted to play college baseball, too.
What was your greatest memory from last season? It's probably a tie between contributing as a reliever in our win over Rice on Friday night and starting on the mound at LSU in front of friends and family from my hometown.
If you were not playing baseball, what would you be doing? I would be a normal student who would be watching sports nonstop.
What music do you like to listen to before a game? Country music, it's not enough that it will pump you up too much, but it won't put you to sleep either.
What is your hidden talent? I have musical talents that not many people know about or experience.
What is your favorite type of animal? Giraffes because they just chill all day long, look good, and can see over just about anything.
Why did the chicken cross the road? To get to the other side.
What is your favorite thing about New Orleans? It is one of the most unique cities in the world with great food and music, and has a culture and atmosphere second to none.
If you were going to be stranded on an island and could have 3 things with you, what 3 items would you take with you? A TV, an Xbox (with College Football 2011 already in it), and a controller. I'll make it work.
What's something no one knows about you? I am musically talented and enjoy playing the piano.
Vanilla or Chocolate? Chocnilla.
What is the best road stadium/atmosphere that you have been in? Why? East Carolina because they're fans packed the stadium. They were right on top of you, loud and into the games.
One word that describes you as a person.... Determined.
