NEW ORLEANS - Tulane University senior sprinter Gloria Asumnu will compete for a national championship in the 60-meter dash this weekend at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships held at the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, Ark.

Asumnu finished fourth at the NCAA Championships in 2007, earning her All-America honors. Two weeks ago at the Conference USA Championships in Houston, Asumnu became the first student-athlete in conference history to win a single event four times, when she tied her own conference record and won the 60m in 7.22 seconds. She also won the C-USA championship in the 200-meter dash and ran the first leg of the champion 4x400-meter relay team.

Asumnu, who currently stands third in the nation in the 60m this season, will run the preliminary heats of the 60m Friday at the NCAA Indoor Championships, and continue with the final rounds on Saturday. Click here for live results of the NCAA Championships.

The rest of the Green Wave will compete in their first outdoor meet of the season at the Southern Mississippi Invitational in Hattiesburg, Miss.

A recap and final results of Asumnu's performance and the team's outdoor meet, as well as all Green Wave track and field news, interviews and results are available on the web at www.TulaneGreenWave.com.
