MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Keriann Langley led the Tulane Green Wave women's cross country team Saturday at the Conference USA Championship, while Mike Mainguy paced the Tulane men. Langley came in 31st overall as the Green Wave finished ninth. Mainguy was 44th in the men's race as Tulane placed eighth.

Langley, in just her second race of the season, ran the 5K in 18:36. It was her first 5K event of the season. She came in 31st, two spots ahead of redshirt freshman Julia Whitrock. Whitrock cross the line in 18:40. Rebecca Coady placd 37th, in 18:56, while senior Aubrey Phillips traveled the course in 19:07 to finish 41st.

Tulane's final scorer was Johanna Gretschel, who turned in a time of 20:45, coming in 67th. Jessica Dallager (21:51) came in 75th while Caitlin Hornbeck (22:26) was 77th as displacers for the Wave.

The Green Wave women scored 209 points, placing ninth with an average time of 19:13. SMU won the women's even, their first C-USA title, behind Slije Fjortoft, who ran a record time of 16:46. Rice was the runner up, followed by Tulsa, UAB, Houston, East Carolina, UTEP, UCF and the Wave.

On the men's side, Mainguy led a group of three Wave runners which finished 44-46. Mainguy turned in a time of 28:45, followed by Brian Lozes (28:50) and Jordon Holtzman (28:53). In 49th was Max Miller (28:59), while Sean Meisler (29:33) placed 51st and Eric Sweeney (30:50) was 52nd. Tim Cullen came in 53rd with a time of 32:03.

Tulsa's John Beattie won the men's race in 23:30, as the Golden Hurricane won the men's C-USA title. They were followed by UTEP, Rice, Marshall, East Carolina, Houston and Memphis.

The Green Wave is in action next at the NCAA Regionals, on November 18 in Waco, Texas.
